Find Family Support in Spokane

Building friendships and finding support during a previous Sibshop group activity.

Get the Support and Community Resources You Need

Navigating the complexities of disability services is a journey best shared with a supportive community. Recently, local families have gathered to gain practical tools for the future, attending workshops on IEPs, 504 Plans, ABLE Savings Accounts, and Special Needs Trusts. These sessions focus on providing parents and caregivers with the information they need to advocate effectively for their children and plan for long-term stability.

Building a foundation of knowledge and support is a shared effort. These sessions are designed to provide families with the practical tools and information needed to navigate disability services and plan for the future with confidence. As the year continues, the focus remains on ensuring these resources provide real value and meet the needs of families throughout our region.

Build Connections Through Upcoming Programs

The current schedule offers several ways for siblings, parents, and the whole family to build meaningful connections:

  • Sibshops: Siblings of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) can share experiences and enjoy a supportive space. Stay tuned for future Sibshop events to help your children connect with peers who understand their unique family dynamics.

  • Helping Parents Mentorship: Returning in mid-March, this program pairs parents in mentor-mentee relationships. It recognizes that the best guidance often comes from another parent who has walked a similar path.

  • Family Baseball Outings: Mark your calendars for June 24, 2026, and August 6, 2026, to join other local families for Spokane Indians baseball games! These are a great way to enjoy a summer tradition in an inclusive environment.

Engage with the community through interactive games and shared experiences.
