Employee Benefits
The Arc of Spokane supports your health, well-being, and professional growth with a comprehensive benefits package.
Health and Wellness
Medical Insurance: We offer two plan choices for employees, spouses, and dependent children. The Arc pays 85% of the employee premium for the base plan and contributes $45 per month to your Health Savings Account (HSA) if you select that plan.
Dental Insurance: The Arc covers 100% of employee dental premiums. Coverage is also available for spouses and dependent children.
Life Insurance: The Arc provides a $10,000 Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) policy at no cost to the employee. Additional voluntary coverage is available for purchase.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
The Arc of Spokane provides a comprehensive leave program designed to support a healthy work-life balance. Our unified PTO plan gives you the flexibility to manage your time off for vacation, personal health, family care, or bereavement.
All employees begin accruing PTO at the time of hire. For new employees, PTO is available for use on the first of the month after 60 days of employment (not to exceed 90 days), which aligns with our benefit eligibility period. Our PTO policy complies with Washington State’s Paid Sick Leave requirements.
Our leave program includes:
Flexible PTO: Your accrued hours can be used for any reason, including vacations, medical appointments, and personal or family needs.
Holidays: Depending on the program an employee works for, The Arc provides paid holidays and/or premium paid holidays for those who work on the holiday.
Supportive Leave: We offer separate paid leave for jury duty. Additionally, if FMLA or Washington Paid Family & Medical Leave does not apply, leaves of absence may be available for extenuating circumstances.
Professional Support and Incentives
Student Loan Forgiveness: As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, employment at The Arc may qualify you for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
Training and Certification: For eligible positions, The Arc pays for initial and annual fees for Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) or Certified (NAC) licenses. We also provide and pay for required training in First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
Employee Discount: Employees receive a 20% discount at The Arc of Spokane Thrift Stores.
Tax Contributions: The Arc pays both the employee and employer portions of the Worker’s Compensation tax.
