BABY AND CHILD DENTISTRY (ABCD)

Access to Baby and Child Dentistry (ABCD) program at the Spokane Regional Health District is funded by the Washington State Health Care Authority and ARCORA Foundation. Any child under age 6 who has Apple Health (Medicaid) benefits is eligible for the program. Spokane Regional Health District program staff help eligible kids access ABCD-certified dentists that will provide fluoride varnish applications, dental exams, parent-education sessions, and restorative care as needed.

WASHINGTON STATE SPECIAL NEEDS DENTAL DIRECTORY

Washington State Special Needs Dental Directory is an online searchable directory that provides a partial listing of dentists who treat patients with mild and/or moderate-severe manifestations of several different developmental and acquired special needs. There is also a link to medical and dental fact sheets about children and adults with special needs for use by the dental profession and for parents and caregivers.

The Medicare Plans Patient Resource Center consults patients, industry experts, and health care providers to bring together basic, comprehensive, fact-based knowledge about Medicare. These resources provide helpful frameworks to get necessary coverage for older adults and people with disabilities.

RESOURCE CENTER OF SPOKANE COUNTY

The Resource Center of Spokane County provides resources and support to help ensure that all aspects of a person’s personal and professional life are addressed in order to increase their opportunities. Just some of the services they provide include: free cell phone programs; low-cost internet service and computer equipment; energy assistance; SSI and SSDI assistance; Financial Literacy, Responsible Renters, and First-Time Home Buyers classes; Substance-Use Disorder and mental health assessments and referrals; counseling referrals; assistance in signing up for State medical insurance; and work readiness programs. GROTTOES INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN FOUNDATION

Grottoes International Humanitarian Foundation is a nonprofit organization that brings “Special Smiles” to children with special needs by providing them much-needed dental care. The program helps cover the cost of dental treatment and anesthesia costs, whether done in a hospital setting or dental office. The program is designed for children under 21 with one or more of the following conditions: Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities, or pre- or post- organ transplant recipient.
