This March, to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, the local art scene features a unique window into the lives of our neighbors. The "Personal Landscapes" exhibition showcases artwork created by members of the Spokane community with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Each piece serves as a visual representation of what the artist holds dear, ranging from cherished personal projects—like Maggie Cubley’s hand-knitted Pikachu—to vibrant displays of community and identity.

Creative Space and Community Connection

Throughout the month, visitors can explore a wide variety of mediums created during open art sessions at the Community Center. These workshops provided the supplies and space for artists to define their own landscapes on their own terms. Whether you are looking for a new piece to decorate your home or simply want to appreciate the diverse talent in our city, this exhibition offers a meaningful way to connect with the local IDD community through their work.

Stop by the Chase Gallery this March to support these local creators and see their stories on display
