PARENT TO PARENT

SPOKANE, STEVENS, PEND OREILLE & FERRY COUNTIES

OUR PURPOSE

No parent should feel alone. Ever.

At The Arc of Spokane Parent to Parent, we empower and support parents of a child with a disability. We understand being the parent of a child with a disability is a challenge - we’ve been there!

You may have many questions and concerns with respect to your child’s and your own needs and feelings. The Arc of Spokane is here to offer support for both you and your loved one. All services are free of charge.

WHAT WE DO

PARENT SUPPORT

Parent groups called “Coffee Talk” offer time and support to navigate the rollercoaster of emotions and life adjustments of raising a child with a disability. These groups can help you to foster relationships with other parents as we build community together.

Helping Parents are trained volunteers who provide emotional support and information to another parent who has a child with a similar diagnosis or support needs. Helping Parents are compassionate, knowledgeable, and ready to offer a listening ear. We don’t want anybody to feel alone.

Connecting to resources can be challenging. Parent to Parent provides referrals to disability related support services in Spokane, Stevens, Pend Oreille, and Ferry counties.

FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

Sibshops offer the siblings of a child with a disability peer support and information through a lively, recreational environment.

Social activities like movies, parks, and pool meetups bring families together year-round. Visit The Arc’s Calendar of Events, the Parent to Parent Spokane County Facebook page, or the Parent to Parent of Stevens, Pend Oreille, & Ferry counties Facebook page for details.

Raise awareness and outreach to the community regarding individuals with disabilities.

VOLUNTEER WITH P2P

Helping Parent volunteers have completed a training program and are available to provide support and information to other parents. All information is kept confidential. To become a Helping Parent Volunteer, please fill out The Arc of Spokane’s Volunteer form to get started!
