BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY SCHOOL FOR SUCCESS (BOSS)

As a partnership between The Arc of Spokane’s Transition & Young Adult Programs (TYAP) and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), the Business Opportunity School for Success is a ten-week experience for students with disabilities between the ages of 16-21. This program includes educational workshops and hands-on work experience to develop, market, create, and sell products at local farmer’s markets.

The first half of the program focuses primarily on learning the basics of entrepreneurship and starting a business. Workshops are taught by TYAP staff and community business leaders. Halfway through the program, participants become employees of The Arc of Spokane.

Applications are due to Kyla Parkins by Friday, April 26 at 5 p.m.

You can email the application to kparkins@arc-spokane.org or drop it off at The Arc's main office at 320 E. 2nd Ave. Interviews will be scheduled as applications are received, and the first portion of the program will begin on May 8 with educational workshops provided in the evening. This program is put on in partnership with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and all applicants must fit DVR's eligibility requirements to participate - be between 14-21 years old (must be 16 to do paid work portion of program), enrolled in school or transition program, and have a 504, IEP or documented disability.
