1. Supported Living Team Leads 

Candidates must be self-motivated, team-oriented and want to make a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. Provide support and encouragement in community living environment for adults with developmental disabilities, and assist the Supported Living Manager in coordinating the delivery of services at the home site. Candidates need to be nurse delegated or have the ability to be delegated.

Team Leads set an example for staff and participants by role modeling values and appropriate interactions to facilitate healthy relationships, enhance family and community interactions, and helping people achieve their desired goals. Must have good communication skills, show initiative and good judgment, and display professionalism. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Therap, QuickMAR and email. Share on-call rotation duties as part of the site leadership team, requires personal transportation available for work-related use and valid driver's license with proof of liability insurance, Arc cell phone provided.

Position requires flexibility in scheduling work hours in order to meet the program's 24/7 coverage. Work shifts may include weekends; day, swing and graveyard shifts; split shifts; and holidays. Positions are full-time, 40 hours per week, includes excellent benefits and starting rate is $13.85/hr.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 1-2 years’ experience supporting people with disabilities
  • Legible handwriting & good communication skills

2. Supported living community living instructors

Community Living Instructors make significant contributions helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to gain skills for independent living and participate in the Spokane community. We are searching for motivated, enthusiastic, and dependable people who want to work as part of a goal- and success-oriented team. We offer paid on the job training and will assist you in obtaining all required certifications to work in this field. Your schedule flexibility is key.

We are currently looking to fill part-time and full-time direct support positions, both Male and Female, in the following areas of Spokane:

-Lincoln Heights area

-Neighborhood north of Eagles Ice-A-Rena

3. PARA-TRANSIT VAN DRIVERS  

The Arc of Spokane is now accepting applications for Driver/client support to join our team who is intelligent, team-oriented and who wants to make a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities.

We have 3 part-time 24 hour per week positions available. Must be available evenings and weekends. Position is more than just driving! The selected applicant will be responsible for managing a schedule of appointments for our clients; supporting our clients while in the vehicle; ensuring safe transport to and from appointments/shopping; and operating an over-sized Para-transit van with a wheelchair lift for the agency.

Experience in this field is preferred but not mandatory. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, minimum age 25, ability to pass required fingerprint background check, completing the required training provided, reliable transportation and insurance, MUST have a valid driver's license and clean driving record for the past five years, and a strong commitment to supporting people's needs positively while treating them with dignity and respect. Will be required to pass STA driver training.

Pay is $13.25/hour with on-the-job training and agency pays for basic certifications.

4. Employment program administrative assistant

Successful non-profit agency serving persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families seeks organized, motivated person with strong follow through that has initiative for our Employment Program Assistant position. Must have excellent communication skills with emphasis on listening, tact, diplomacy and patience.  Our department is motivated in finding someone who has initiative, is organized and knows the value of paying attention to detail. As a candidate, you must be proficient with data entry/ten-key and use of computerized accounting software/MS Office.

Provide planning and service coordination support with an amazing team of employment professionals to individuals who experience I/DD including: new client intake and discovery, service planning, phone and email communication, creating documents/forms/spreadsheets, maintaining database, client documentation and reports, billing, quality assurance and assisting with budgeting.  Well qualified candidates should be problem solvers and able to organize, multi-task and follow-up well.

Possess ability to pass required background check, have a valid Washington driver's license and proof of insurance. Full-time position, 40 hours per week, $15-17.25/hr., DOE, M-F, 8:30 am -- 5pm. Includes vacation, sick, personal leave and medical, dental, life, and retirement benefits once eligible.

5. Employment specialist

The Arc of Spokane is seeking individuals to support persons with developmental disabilities in finding and maintaining employment. Working as part of a team you will assist in the full employment cycle for our clients.

This includes working closely with our clients and their advocates to identify client skills, strengths, interests and support needs. This may entail facilitating planning meetings and taking a primary role in leading the exploration of employment possibilities and using the input of the client and/or other meeting participants to construct a thorough picture of the individual's employment opportunities and goals. You will create a written service plan for each client that describes the strategies and specific steps that lead to finding and/or maintaining successful employment. Additionally, you will develop job placements, assessment opportunities, and volunteer work sites through building relationships with employers. You will assist in resume preparation, application processes, and interview skills to match people with developmental disabilities to jobs in the community that fit their needs and abilities, ensuring success for both the employee and the employer. Finally, you will assist clients in maintaining attendance, communication, and mastering their job responsibilities; coaches may also arrange transportation for their clients.

Qualified candidates will possess initiative, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and keen organizational skills. Additionally, they will demonstrate patience, integrity, diplomacy, and sensitivity to the needs of our clients, will be able to work independently as well as in teams, and will be committed to the idea that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are valuable employees and make significant contributions to the workplace. A sales/marketing background is helpful. Flexible schedule, work hours are driven by client needs and may include nights and weekends.

Must pass required background check, have valid driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation. Full time 40 hours per week; $14.50 to $16.68/hour DOE.

6. Human Resource Assistant

Do you want to work in a fun office? Do you like to decorate for employee morale? The Arc of Spokane is looking for an enthusiastic individual with a human resource background to join our HR/Finance department as an Assistant. Our department is motivated in finding someone who has initiative, is organized and knows the value of paying attention to detail. As a candidate, you must be proficient with data entry/ten-key and use of computerized HRIS software/MS Office with beyond basic skills in Excel. A qualified candidate will have excellent communication skills with emphasis on listening, tact, diplomacy and patience. 

This position will work with our team and may support our department in the following: creating and maintaining files in auditable condition, filing, data entry, processing employment applications and notifications, posting positions and webpage updates, mailing items, copying forms and packets as assigned, assist with new hire orientation, assist with benefits administration and background checks, help with LNI claim processing, unemployment responses, policy updates, and employee training. There may be some finance related data entry and processing billings, making deposits, along with general administrative duties. 

Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 18 with a HS Diploma/GED, valid driver's license and current insurance with the ability to successfully pass required background check. Must maintain confidentiality, have the ability to be flexible, work together and independently, and have the utmost integrity. Legible handwriting, initiative, good communication skills, and share our values in supporting our great staff while they live our mission of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families . 2+years education and experience in a human resource discipline is preferred.

The HR Assistant position is Full-time, M-F 8:30am to 5:00pm, $16-18.40, DOE . Includes Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Retirement, Vacation, Sick Leave, Personal Day, paid holidays off once eligibility criteria have been met.
